The
site demonstrates how 'RoadSafe' awareness can be
promoted
using the Internet and intergrating Tourism and Road Safety. The site
provides
up-to-date information relating to road conditions, Road Safety messages
and provides
vital information to tourists, whether arriving by a two or four wheeled
vehicle.
The
'tourism' component of the site provides a photographic view of
points of interest, townships and revival or rest stops.
The
major attraction of the site is the Regional Map which provides clickable
areas to
access sectional views of the main routes in/out of each focal region.
The
Sectional Maps have clickable icons.
When 'hovered'
they display an image and text
relating to that issue,
such as:
'No Surprises' locations
Rest Stops
Items of interest |
When 'clicked' the icons display the enlarged version of the image.
The site contains a range of Road Safety information such as:

The list is
only limited by the requirement to expand
these horizons.
The site's longevity is expected to be maintained by advertising
from a range of sources including manufacturers, retailers, hospitality
and accommodation hosts.
The site is/will
be linked from such high profile websites as "phillipislandcircuit.com.au",
"gippslandlakes.com", "lakesandwilderness.com.au",
"ulysses.org.au" and many others.
