Group Rides

Group rides require special consideration . . .

Planning -

  • Have a plan 'B' in case of problems
  • Research your route before hand
  • Brief riders on behaviour, corner 'marking' and the route planned.
  • Ensure all have a full fuel tank.
  • Provide mobile contact numbers of organisers in case of emergency
  • Appoint a responsible Group Leader and a Tail Rider with a First Aid kit
  • Leader to direct rider behind to 'mark' corners until signaled to rejoin by the Tail Rider and remains in line.
  • Ride in staggered formation
  • Plan frequent stops for fuel and rest
When riding in a group, temper your riding to cater for the less experienced and plan frequent rest breaks.
Group rides are not a race!

There are some awesome rides to be found throughout Gippsland, and riding with a group should be a great experience.

Following this basic planning guide will make your ride safer and more enjoyable.

Adding the 'Ride On' survival skills, will not only improve your level of safety but increase your riding enjoyment.

There are a number of regional clubs that cater for regular group rides, such as:

Ulysses Ride Group (East Gippsland)
